Wedding Booking Fees.
Terms and Conditions of booking
It is mutually agreed that the following terms form an integral part of this contract, and that no variation or modification shall be effective unless accepted by both Phil Lewin Photography and the client(s), in writing.
The booking fee shown opposite is required at the time of booking. Dates will only be confirmed when this booking fee is paid by cash, cheque, or Paypal. This booking fee is non-refundable. Please make cheques payable to Philip Lewin. A full unconditional refund policy exists for 14 days from receipt of the contract and payment. After that date, refunds are at the discretion of Phil Lewin Photography.
Upon agreement in principle to photograph a wedding or other event, the photographer will meet with or contact the clients, and request that a booking form be signed and the booking fee paid to reserve a date for the photography.
Unless agreed otherwise, the balance of the payment for services contracted must be paid on or before the wedding. Payment for additional photographs and albums is made when these are ordered. Any bank charges incurred due to returned cheques will be charged to the client.
These are payable in stages. Unless agreed otherwise, these stages shall be as follows:
Silver & Gold packages where no Photo Booth session is required: 50% of balance on or before wedding date. Remainder on delivery of Printable Image Disc
Platinum, or Silver / Gold with Photo Booth Session: 50% of balance 14 days prior to wedding date. Remainder on delivery of Printable Image Disc.
The exact figures shall be notified on receipt of the booking fee.
In the event of the client cancelling a booking for wedding photography, Phil Lewin reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee in accordance with the following scale:
i. £50 (or the booking fee paid, if higher), if cancelled more than 14 days from receipt of booking fee payment and contract.
ii. The higher of the booking fee or 35% of the agreed fee if cancelled between 6-12 months prior to the wedding date.
iii. 50% of the agreed fee if cancelled between 6 months - 30 days of the wedding date.
iv. 100% of the agreed fee if cancelled within 30 days of the wedding date. Should the cancelled wedding turn out to be a postponement, then at the discretion of Phil Lewin, and subject to availability, monies other than the booking fee may be applied to the new wedding.
The Photographer will honour all photographs requested and agreed in advance, provided the following factors are met: Weather and allocated time permitting, availability and co-operation of the person/s concerned.
The photographer cannot be held responsible for the lack of coverage caused by: the bride, the groom or wedding party not being on time, nor by restrictions placed on the photographer by officials of the church, register office, or licensed marriage venues. The photographer does not guarantee any specific picture nor to include a specific background, location, props or arrangement, although every effort will be made to interpret the client’s wishes.
Should the photographer notice that a member of the wedding party or a guest has been seen to blink, the photograph will be taken again but it is impossible to guarantee to see all of them.
Weather and/or delays:
Phil Lewin Photography cannot be held responsible for images and photography sessions being disrupted by adverse or unfavourable weather. Phil Lewin Photography shall not be liable for any amount in excess of the retail value of your package. In the event of unfavourable weather, the photographer in co-operation with the client, will make the necessary changes to the schedule and will do their best to provide coverage of the wedding day within the time allocated to them. Similarly, when delays occur due to circumstances that are outside their control, the photographer will stay on beyond the agreed time but reserves the right to charge an additional fee for the extra time involved.
Phil Lewin Photography shall be the exclusive photographer retained by the client. Family and Friends are permitted to take photographs as long as they do not disturb, disrupt, or interfere with the photographer’s duties. The photographer has the right to kindly ask the person obstructing to refrain from doing so, in order for Phil Lewin Photography to carry on their duties. It is our duty to provide you with a unique service. Any breach of this agreement will constitute a reason for non-completion of the job with no liability to the photographer or Phil Lewin Photography.
Every care is taken in photographing and processing using professional equipment and suppliers. We make 3 backups of your photos once taken (2x on DVD plus an external hard disk). We also use online cloud storage. However things can and do happen: In the unlikely event of total photographic failure ie during taking, backing up, corruption of image data, or processing, the Photographer’s liability shall be limited to a full refund of all monies paid.
Where the client orders an album from the range supplied by Photobox, the photographer will add the album to the client’s online album for their approval and the client will pay on ordering direct from the Photobox website. Where the client orders an album from any other supplier, a low resolution proof CD will be given to the client(s) along with a pdf file containing a possible album layout. The client(s) will need to agree the album layout and required images within 4 months of the date of the wedding. Failure to do so may result in increased manufacturing costs of the album. After 4 months, any such costs will be passed on to the clients. Phil Lewin Photography will supply the album and number of pages that has been ordered subject to variations that the client(s) may make.
Owing to photographic anomalies caused by certain dyes and materials, it is sometimes impossible to record on camera the exact colour of materials as perceived by the human eye. When processing the images the photographer will endeavour to achieve a pleasing overall colour. It is understood that some colours may not remain consistent throughout a set of photographs owing to variations in lighting conditions. It is also understood that all photographic printing is undertaken within the technical limits of the process, and that colour may not be identical over the whole range within a subject. The colour balance of prints made at different times or in varying sizes may also be variable. Due to limitations of computer monitors, it is understood that images may appear differently according to the specification of each monitor and that prints do not match images rendered on any particular monitor.
